It offers higher secondary subjects including science, commerce and arts programmes. The institute was awarded "Best Institution" on 18 January 2004 by the president of Bangladesh. Facilities include a 1,000-seat auditorium and a 100-place hostel. The principal is usually a lieutenant colonel of the Army Education Corps of Bangladesh Army. If an officer is not found who is a lieutenant colonel then a civilian is employed as the principal. The principal is the Member Secretary of the Governing Body.〔 The prolocutor of the Governing Body is the station commander of Jalalabad Cantonment.
